Frequently Asked Questions About E-Waste Recycling in Malaysia
Everything you need to know about our free pickup, payment process, accepted devices and service areas.
01. What is e-waste and why should I recycle it responsibly?
E-waste (electronic waste) refers to discarded electrical and electronic equipment such as old laptops, phones, TVs and printers. Improper disposal pollutes soil and water with toxic materials like lead and mercury. TechWaste ensures your devices are processed safely in compliance with Malaysian environmental regulations under Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS).
02. How do I schedule a free e-waste pickup?
Simply WhatsApp us at 019-299 4991 or fill in our contact form. Tell us what devices you have, your preferred date and your location. We’ll confirm your booking and come to you — free of charge for 3 or more listed devices.
03. Which areas in Malaysia do you serve?
We currently serve Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Gombak, Batu Caves, Setapak and surrounding areas in Selangor. For bulk corporate collections outside these areas, contact us for a customised arrangement. A 24/7 drop-off point is also available in Cyberjaya.
04. Is the pickup really free — any hidden charges?
Pickup is completely FREE for orders of 3 or more listed devices. For fewer than 3 devices, a RM50 pickup fee applies. Bulky items such as CRT monitors, air conditioners or TVs over 50” carry a RM50/unit fee. Drop-off at our Cyberjaya collection point is always free.
05. How much will I get paid for my devices?
Payment depends on device type and condition. Non-working scrap laptops earn from RM10; working i7/gaming laptops can earn up to RM500. Check our full price list at pricing.html or WhatsApp us a photo/video for an instant quote.
06. How and when is payment made?
Payment is made on the spot at the time of collection — in cash or via cashless payment (Bank Transfer, GrabPay, Touch n Go eWallet, BigPay, Boost). No waiting, no delays.
07. How do you handle the data on my devices?
Data security is our priority. All storage devices (hard drives, SSDs, phones) are securely wiped or physically destroyed before processing. We follow strict data handling protocols to protect your privacy.
08. What items do you NOT accept?
We do not accept household white goods like fridges or washing machines through our standard pickup service (bulky fee applies). We also do not accept radioactive, biological or chemical waste. All unlisted electronic/electrical devices are accepted as “Other (Mix)” at RM0.50/kg.
